Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A social worker is needed to provide mental health and counseling services in a K-12 school setting in Naples, FL for a contract position running from January 5, 2026, through May 28, 2026. This role requires working 35 hours per week onsite, with assignments varying between schools.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based individual and group counseling to students identified for mental health support
- Apply verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques, including TEACH strategies for managing aggressive behavior among children and adolescents
- Prepare sections of the Individualized Education Program (IEP), collect data, and monitor progress for students on caseload
- Collaborate effectively as part of the classroom team with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling (psychologists are not eligible)
- Minimum of two years experience working with children and parents on mental health appraisals and interventions based on evidence-based educational and therapeutic practices
- Florida Department of Education Certification in Social Work, or licensure as a clinical social worker or mental health provider as defined by Chapter 491, F.S.
- Candidates with a Masters degree must become a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern within six months of hire, work under supervision, and obtain full clinical licensure within three years
